GMGN Review 2026: the Smart-Money Terminal That Ships Faster Than Its Own Docs

Last verified: August 19, 2026, against official posts, docs.gmgn.ai, and inside the app itself (chain selector and rewards section counted in-app on that date). Link at the bottom is a referral link, marked as such.

Verdict: GMGN is the analytics terminal: you come for the smart-money data (who is accumulating, who is exiting, wallet PnL histories) and the trading is built around that information edge. We counted 13 chains live in the chain selector on August 19, 2026, while GMGN's own About page still said six, which sums the product up: it ships faster than it documents. The fee is a flat 1% with no volume tiers, so heavy traders pay more here than on Axiom. The platform itself has never been breached; its users have repeatedly been hurt by fake GMGN sites, and the one time phishing touched accounts through a forged third-party site (October 2025), GMGN compensated everyone the same day. Type gmgn.ai yourself, always.

The facts, dated

ItemStatus as of August 19, 2026
CompanyFounded June 2023, Singapore-based, roughly 30 people. Co-founders: Jerry Ma (CEO, named) and "Haze" (a pseudonym, ex quantitative trading). Semi-identified: more transparent than the anonymous bots, less than Cielo's public CEO.
Chains13 in the selector: Solana, Ethereum, Base, BSC, Robinhood, Arbitrum, Stable, Arc, X Layer, HyperEVM, MegaETH, Monad, Tron verified in-app Aug 19. Robinhood Chain went live August 14 and Arbitrum August 18 per official posts; the About page still said six when we counted.
Fee1% flat per trade, every chain, no volume tiers per docs. No user-side referral discount: the "30% off" many sites cite is the referrer's commission, per official docs (checked August 16, 2026).
Copy tradingMirror up to 10 wallets with basic filters. The discovery side (smart-money analytics, KOL lists, PnL histories) is the strongest of any terminal we cover; the agent controls are simpler than Cielo's.
CustodyIn-app hot wallet, private key export supported. Same rule as everywhere: trading float only.
RewardsNo fee cashback. A gamified credits program exists (1 credit per BSC/SOL trade of $10+, 100 credits per $1,000 volume, redeemable for physical prizes and raffles) verified in-app Aug 19. Also a free "Claim Free SOL" tool that closes empty token accounts and refunds their rent, a service some third-party sites charge up to 20% for.
IncidentsPlatform never breached. Users lost $700K+ to phishing clone sites in late 2025 source. In April 2025 roughly 31% of Solana MEV sandwich attacks hit trades routed through GMGN; it responded with MEV protection and compensation that July. In October 2025, phishing through a forged third-party token site touched about 107 accounts; GMGN fully compensated them the same day source.
ScaleDaily revenue was reported above $700K in November 2024, when volume surges were crashing its servers. Historic figure, quoted for scale, not current.

The badges tell you the proof level: verified in-app means we counted it ourselves inside the app on the date shown, per docs means official documentation is the source.

A note on outdated sources, including GMGN's own: most articles say GMGN runs on 4 to 6 chains, and GMGN's About page said six on the day our own count of the selector found 13. Robinhood Chain and Arbitrum both arrived in mid-August 2026, announced on X before any documentation caught up. When a product moves this fast, only an in-app count means anything, which is why ours carries a date.

Why GMGN is interesting right now

Every terminal executes trades; GMGN's bet is that the edge is in knowing whose trades to watch. Its core loop is discovery to execution: smart-money wallet labels, KOL lists (broader than Solana-only tools, since it covers EVM chains too), per-wallet PnL histories with win rates and distribution charts, an X tracker that follows accounts you choose, and one click from any of that to a buy. The August 2026 additions push the same idea further: AI "skills" that run token due diligence from one sentence, and dev tracking in its Trenches feed that highlights launches from wallets you trust. None of this makes anyone profitable by itself, but if your strategy is following informed wallets rather than out-sniping bots, this is the most complete toolbox for it.

Costs, without the myth

The fee is a flat 1% per trade on every chain, and it stays 1% whatever your volume. That is the whole pricing page, and it cuts both ways: simpler than cashback ladders, more expensive at size, where Axiom's tiers reach 0.75%. Two recurring claims deserve correction. First, there is no referral discount for you as a user: the "30% off" that referral sites advertise is the commission the referrer earns, per GMGN's own docs. Second, the credits program is not cashback: credits buy raffle entries and physical prizes (the shop listed a BMW M4 at 15 million points when we looked), they do not reduce your fee. Fun, real, and worth zero basis points.

The security file, complete

Read this section before depositing, because GMGN's risk profile is unusual: the platform has a clean sheet, and its users keep getting robbed next door. Fake GMGN sites stole over $700K in late 2025, security writeups have documented clone domains running wallet drainers, and we found impostor X accounts (@Gmgn_ai, @gmgnai_official) plus at least one unofficial "gmgn bot" site promising fee rebates the real product does not offer. The official coordinates are exactly two: gmgn.ai and @gmgnai on X. Type the URL yourself, bookmark it, never follow ads or DM links. The one incident that reached real accounts through a forged third-party token site, in October 2025, ended with GMGN compensating all ~107 affected users the same day, which puts it in the small club of platforms (with Maestro and Banana Gun) whose incident response is a reason for confidence rather than concern. The April 2025 MEV wave, when nearly a third of Solana sandwich attacks hit GMGN-routed trades, was met with MEV protection settings and a compensation program that July: turn the protection on, it exists because they needed it. One thing we could not verify: a clearly documented support channel for when a trade goes wrong. Until GMGN publishes one, assume support runs through their official X and Telegram, and size deposits accordingly.

(ref link) This is a referral link, added August 18, 2026: GMGN may pay us a share of trading fees at no cost to you, and it changes nothing in your fee (see the myth section above). Browsing the analytics requires no deposit at all, which is the risk-free way to evaluate it.

FAQ

Is GMGN legit and safe?

The platform is legitimate and has never been breached, with a semi-identified team and a documented refund record. The real danger is fake GMGN sites and impostor accounts, which have cost users more than any platform failure. Access it by typed URL only and the risk becomes the normal one: an in-app hot wallet that should hold your trading float, not your savings.

How many chains does GMGN support?

We counted 13 in the chain selector on August 19, 2026: Solana, Ethereum, Base, BSC, Robinhood, Arbitrum, Stable, Arc, X Layer, HyperEVM, MegaETH, Monad and Tron. Most articles, and GMGN's own About page that day, still said four to six.

What are GMGN fees?

1% flat per trade, all chains, no volume tiers, no user-side referral discount. Cheaper than nothing, simpler than everything, and beaten at high volume by Axiom's cashback ladder: the math is in GMGN vs Axiom.

GMGN or Axiom?

GMGN for information (copy trading, smart-money analytics, 13 chains), Axiom for execution costs at volume (0.75% at the top tier, Solana plus Hyperliquid perps). The full comparison, trust asterisks included, is in GMGN vs Axiom.
