Cielo vs Nansen in 2026: Alerts or Labels

Cielo logoVSNansen logo

Last verified: September 5, 2026. Both buttons at the bottom are referral links, marked. Both tools have a free tier, which is the no-risk way to decide between them.

The one-rule answer: Cielo if you want to know when a wallet moves. Nansen if you want to know who the wallet is.

Cielo pushes real-time alerts into Telegram and lets a tracked buy become your own trade inside the same product, at 0.6%.

Nansen answers the question Cielo cannot: whether that address belongs to a fund, an exchange or a proven trader. Since January 2026 it also trades, at 0.75% falling to about 0.09% by points tier.

They are not really rivals. Plenty of people run Cielo free for alerts and pay Nansen only when they need the labels.

Where Cielo wins

Speed of reaction, and price. The free tier tracks 250 wallets, which is more than most people will ever watch seriously, and the alerts arrive where you already are rather than in a dashboard you have to remember to open.

Then it closes the loop: a wallet you track buys something, and you can act on it in the same product, at 0.6%, the cheapest trading fee of any tool on this site.

The full review covers the agent controls, the filters and the one thing Cielo still does not document.

Where Nansen wins

Knowing what you are looking at. An address that just bought is only a signal if you know something about it, and that is the entire Nansen product: labels built over years, across 37 chains.

The 2026 repricing matters here. At $49 a month on the annual plan it is no longer a fund-only tool, and most competitor reviews still quote the old higher tiers, so check the current pricing page rather than the blogs.

Its chain dashboard is also the fastest way to see where volume actually is: on September 5, 2026 it put Robinhood Chain first of all chains for fees over seven days, which is the kind of thing you want to know before choosing what to track.

The custody difference, spelled out

Both now let you trade, and that changes the risk conversation. Tracking a wallet costs you nothing but a subscription. Funding a trading wallet inside a product is a different decision.

Nansen answers it plainly: the wallet is embedded, there is a View Private Key button, and MFA is available. If the company disappeared tomorrow, you could still open that wallet elsewhere.

Cielo does not document the custody model of its trading side. That is not an accusation, it is a gap, and we have asked. Until it is answered, the rule is the same one we apply everywhere: keep only what you actively trade in there.

What most people actually do

Run Cielo's free tier for the alerts, because 250 wallets and Telegram notifications cost nothing. Add Nansen when a specific question comes up that alerts cannot answer, which is usually "is this wallet somebody, or is it noise".

If you only ever pay for one, pay for the one that matches your bottleneck: reacting fast, or knowing who you are copying. The full trackers comparison puts both against Arkham, GMGN and the free stack.

FAQ

Is Cielo or Nansen better for copy trading?

Cielo, because the alert and the trade live in the same product and the fee is 0.6%. Nansen is built for research first and added trading in 2026.

For copy trading beyond trackers entirely, the copy trading comparison covers the apps built for it.

Is the Nansen free tier enough?

Enough to see the interface and decide, not enough to work with. The labels are the product, and the depth of what you can see is what the subscription buys.

Do I need both?

No. They answer different questions, and a lot of people run Cielo free alongside a paid Nansen rather than paying for two.

Which one is cheaper to trade with?

Cielo at 0.6% flat. Nansen starts at 0.75% and only goes below Cielo once you climb the points tiers, where it can reach about 0.09%.

That is a real difference for anyone trading size, and no difference at all for someone tracking wallets and buying occasionally.

(ref links) Both are referral links: we may earn a share of fees or subscriptions at no extra cost to you. Both have free tiers, so you can decide before paying anyone anything. For Cielo, create the account on the web first, then connect Telegram from inside the app; the bot alone carries no referral.

How we're paid on this page: both tools pay us a referral share through the marked links. That is exactly why the custody gap on Cielo's trading side and the fee gap at low volume are written above rather than left out.
